Finally The Dragon Boat Festival is coming 

Zongzi is known as "jiaoshu" and "jiaozong". It is steamed from glutinous rice and is one of the traditional Chinese festival food. It appeared in Spring and Autumn Period, used to sacrifice ancestors and gods. In the Jin Dynasty, it became a food for the Dragon Boat Festival.

The Dragon Boat Festival also known as The Duanyang Festival, Chongwu Festival, Longri, Zhengyang Festival, Yulan Festival, Tianzhong Festival etc.It mixed with a variety of folk customs during the development. Dragon Boat and have Zongzi are two rituals of the Dragon Boat Festival.

These two traditional rituals have been originated from ancient China, which ancient people sacrificed ancestors in the form of dragon boat racing.

It is said that Qu Yuan, a poet of Chu State during the Warring States period, plunged himself into the Miluo river during the Dragon Boat Festival. Later people also used Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.
